Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Installing CCTV can be a relatively easy or difficult task, depending on your level of knowledge and experience with technology and installation. If you have a basic understanding of electronics and wiring, and have clear instructions from the CCTV manufacturer, then installing CCTV can be quite simple. However, if you lack experience or are unsure about the installation process, installing CCTV can be more challenging and require the assistance of a professional CCTV technician. It's crucial to ensure the installation is done correctly to ensure optimal CCTV function and meet your surveillance objectives.

There are significant differences in the cabling used for IP CCTV and AHD CCTV. Here are the differences in cable usage for the two types of CCTV:

1. IP CCTV: IP CCTV uses Ethernet network cables (UTP) to transfer data. Commonly used UTP cables are Category 5e (Cat 5e) or Category 6 (Cat 6). These UTP cables are used to connect IP cameras to switches or routers, which are then connected to recording devices or NVRs (Network Video Recorders). IP CCTV utilizes network protocols such as TCP/IP to transfer digital video data.

2. AHD CCTV: AHD (Analog High Definition) CCTV uses RG59 coaxial cable or UTP cable with a balun to transfer analog signals. RG59 coaxial cable is typically used for longer distances and provides better signal quality. However, UTP cable with a balun can also be used as a more flexible and affordable alternative. AHD CCTV transmits high-resolution encoded analog video signals through the cable to the recording device.

It's important to understand the type of CCTV you're using and choose the appropriate cable to ensure optimal video quality and a stable connection. If you're looking for quality cables for your CCTV needs, LOEWIX is the right choice. We offer a variety of CCTV cables, including RG59 coaxial cables and UTP cables, with guaranteed quality. Get the best quality cables at LOEWIX to ensure stable signal transmission and optimal video quality. Trust LOEWIX with your CCTV cable needs and enjoy unmatched satisfaction and reliability.

No, CCTV installation doesn't always require a WiFi connection. CCTV can be connected via Ethernet cable or use a different network technology, such as PoE (Power over Ethernet) to transfer data and power. A WiFi connection can be used if the CCTV has wireless capabilities, but the choice of connection depends on your needs and preferences. It's important to consider connection reliability, speed, and stability when choosing the right CCTV installation method.

The retention time for CCTV footage depends on several factors, such as available storage capacity, the number of cameras recording, and auto-delete settings. Under standard settings, CCTV footage can last for several weeks or months before the storage space becomes full.

For example, suppose you have a CCTV system with four cameras recording 24/7 at 1080p. Each camera produces approximately 10GB of video per day. If you have 1TB (1000GB) of storage capacity, here's an example calculation:

Total storage capacity (in GB): 1000GB
Total storage capacity (in days): 1000GB / (4 cameras x 10GB/day) = 25 days

With 1TB of storage, your CCTV footage can last for approximately 25 days before the storage space becomes full. It's important to consider factors such as storage requirements, auto-delete settings, and the importance of the footage when determining how long CCTV footage can be retained.

Standard CCTV cameras typically lack audio capabilities, but LOEWIX offers audio-enabled CCTV solutions. With a LOEWIX CCTV camera equipped with an integrated microphone and speaker, you can monitor and listen to audio in the monitored area. This feature enhances the security and effectiveness of your surveillance. So, if you need a CCTV camera with audio capabilities, don't hesitate to choose LOEWIX. CCTV cameras connected directly to a power source will shut down in the event of a power outage. However, many modern CCTV cameras are equipped with a battery backup or UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) feature that allows them to continue operating for a period of time after a power outage.
This feature ensures that the CCTV remains active and recording even during a power outage. However, the duration of the backup power depends on the capacity of the battery or UPS used. It's important to consider the use of backup power features when selecting or installing a CCTV system.

Many modern CCTV cameras are equipped with night vision or infrared features, allowing them to see and record in dark or low-light conditions. Infrared technology uses infrared rays that are invisible to the human eye but can be detected by CCTV cameras. However, not all CCTV cameras are capable of recording in full color in low-light conditions.

If you're looking for a CCTV camera that can record in full color even in low-light conditions, you can use the Cat Eyes feature, unique to LOEWIX CCTV. This Cat Eyes feature allows the CCTV to record in full color even in low-light conditions. LOEWIX is the right choice. With innovative Cat Eyes technology, LOEWIX CCTV cameras can deliver high-quality, full-color footage, even in very low light. Get optimal surveillance and guaranteed security with LOEWIX's advanced, high-quality CCTV cameras.
